Make Your Own Clay
YOU WILL NEED:
- 1 cup of white flour
- ¼ cup salt
- 2 tablespoons cream of tartar
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- Food coloring (2 teaspoons of each color you want)
- 1 cup of water
- 1 parent to help you around the stove
HERE IS WHAT YOU DO:
- Mix flour, salt, and cream of tartar in medium pot.
- Add water, food coloring, and oil.
- Stir over medium heat for 3 to 5 minutes. It will look like a big, disgusting mess, but don't worry. Keep stirring!)
- When the blob turns into a ball in the center of the pot, take it out carefully, let it cool, and put it on a floured surface. Squish it around until it's nice and soft. Now you're ready to make your masterpiece.
- Keep the clay fresh by storing it in an airtight container in the fridge.
