Phineas' Phantistic Phiscuits
Here's a dog biscuit recipe that's sure to wag your mutt's tail!
|
YOU WILL NEED:
- 1-3/4 cups hot tap water
- 8 crushed chicken bouillon cubes
- 1 package active, dry yeast
- 2 cups wheat germ
- 1-1/2 cups whole wheat flour
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- An adult (to help you with the hot stuff)
DIRECTIONS:
- Preheat oven to 300 degrees.
- Pour the water into a large bowl and add the yeast and bouillon cubes. Let stand for about five minutes.
- Add the flours and wheat germ, and mix really well. It might be dry and a bit hard to work with. Don't throw it on the floor and stomp on it! Use your hands to mash it, until it's all mixed together.
- Break the great glob of dough into a couple of balls, flatten them out on a floured surface with a rolling pin. Cut out shapes.
- Using a spatula, put the shapes onto a cookie sheet and bake in the oven for one hour.
- Let them sit in the turned-off oven for about four hours.
